              1. <lido:descriptiveNoteValue xml:lang="es">San Juan Evangelista es una obra de El Greco, realizada entre 1577 y 1579 durante su primer período toledano. Es una de las obras más importantes de toda la carrera de El Greco. Su estructura y estilo hace inevitable la evocación a Tiziano y a Miguel Ángel. Incluso podría decirse que anticipa el tenebrismo. Análisis[editar] Es una obra que tiene gran influencia del arte italiano, especialmente de Miguel Ángel, a quien El Greco había estudiado. Incluso, ha llegado a compararse esta obra con el Moisés (Roma, San Pietro in Vincoli). Esta figura formaba parte de la decoración del altar mayor del convento toledano de Santo Domingo el Antiguo. La manera que emplea el pintor de representar al santo no es muy habitual: anciano y sin su atributo principal, el águila. El Greco centra la composición en el rostro del evangelista. Sus manos exhiben delicadeza y espiritualidad, dos de los rasgos más comunes de la obra de El Greco.</lido:descriptiveNoteValue>
